Jackson traded to Charlotte

November 16th, 2009 | by samia |

The Golden State Warriors have finalized a deal that will send forward Stephen Jackson and guard Acie Law to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic.

One of the more difficult trades to pull off from the Warrior’s point of view. Jackson and his agent have been publicly ripping the coach, which only decimates any leverage that was remaining.

I was a bit surprised when I saw S Jax going to Charlotte, instead of Cleveland, with Danny Ferry trying to pull out all of the cards for Lebron James. But Cleveland has been playing solid basketball as of late so there is no need to shake up the deck.

I like the move for Charlotte as long as Jackson keeps to himself and doesn’t get into it with Larry Brown. Kudos to Charlotte for pulling off this deal, it was the right move to make. They needed a upgrade in offensive punch. I’m not too sure where Acie Law fits as a third point guard behind Felton and Augustine, but at least depth has been addressed.

There is some serious talent in Charlotte. Stocked at the point guard position, having Gerald Wallace, and a guy I like a lot, Boris Diaw. The Bobcats have had some defense, but now have a legitimate scoring threat to turn to.

Be warned, it may not be so easy to roll through Time Warner Cable Arena.
