100 is a nice number…Once you get there

November 18th, 2009 | by samia |

On the night of November 17th, the Chicago Bulls not only secured their first win on the circus trip, they surpassed the 100 point mark for the first time this season. Yes, I said November 17th.

The key to the game was John Salmons, who finished with 23 points on 9-18 shooting, including 3-5 from three point land. Salmons received a respectable ovation from the Arco faithful before the tip.

“It felt good to have the fans recognize what you did for their team while you were here,” Salmons replied, “When I go to Philly, I still get booed”

Last night’s game was a story of everything gone right. Salmons, who was shooting .317 from the field, shoots 50% from the field. The Bulls got out and pushed the tempo, securing 22 fast break points. Here’s some additional notes that I gathered during last night’s game:

-Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich had a rough game, going a combined 3-21 from the field. Beyond the poor shooting, Rose had 7 dimes.

-Luol Deng continues to be sent from heaven. 16 points and 10 rebounds, while still bringing his defensive talents to the forefront.

-Joakim Noah spoke after the game of his commitment to the weight room. Joakim is the league’s leading rebounder,  and said he spent a lot of his summer in Los Angeles at Gold’s Gym, watching roid heads scream and pop blood vessels in their foreheads.

Whatever works Joakim…
