Linkabulls:Boozer coming to Chicago?

November 28th, 2009 | by samia |

I originally wasn’t going to do a post today, but I woke up somewhat early for a weekend and had some valuable time to kill. I checked all my feeds and there were some entertaining reads out there. Let’s check it out.

Is Boozer on the Bulls free agent shopping list? Mike McGraw

Is Carlos Boozer destined to be a Chicago Bull?

Let’s not move so fast. Chicago is holding a firm place on the list for Boozer suitors, but they aren’t the only party interested.

The New Jersey Nets should be taken seriously as a destination for Carlos Boozer. I know for a fact that Carlos was in New Jersey shortly before the season started with his agent, and was open about the fact that he was house shopping. As has been previously documented, Boozer’s son has sickle cell anemia, and the specialists in the tri-state area are some of the best in the nation. And from a basketball POV, the Nets have a gaping hole at the power forward position. Serious Boozer contender? Well, it might help if they would win a game already this season. The Nets have some talent, but right now they are as desirable as genital herpes.

As far as the Bulls, the situation dictates everything. Boozer has gone as far as to openly campaign on the radio, which I would imagine sent Jazz officials to the local happy hour bar after a player destroyed all remaining trade leverage.

Boozer has been playing well, proven by his performance against us on Thanksgiving. The Jazz may ride it out with Boozer and let him walk at the end of the year. Having Paul Millsap waiting in the wings is a nice luxury. If only we drafted that well…

Personally, if Amar’e is floating out there, he’s my first choice. (Although knee specialists predict another microfracture surgery in 2-3 years.) If we’re going to wait for free agency, Amar’e is a beyond gifted offensive player. Much more so than Boozer. Only problem is that with Stoudemire, much like Boozer, you talk about defensive deficiencies.

The fact is that Boozer disappears on big stages and has left Deron Williams alone on an island multiple times in the playoffs. In short, put a gun to my head, and i’ll tell you that Carlos Boozer is a player who will only get you to a certain point. Promised land? No, you better re-adjust your expectations..

Allen Iverson back to Philly? Stephen A. Smith

The Sixers are serious about this one, and at the discounted price I can’t blame them. You know Iverson is going to bring people back to the gate, especially in Philadephia. The people of that city truly love Iverson, and though he never brought home a title, he’ll always be adored there.

Lou Williams is out for eight weeks with a broken jaw, so this move makes sense, and will probably be done by Monday evening at the latest.
