Deja vu for Hinrich and his thumb/Bulls-Bucks talk
November 30th, 2009 | by samia |Injuries are a part of the game. What can you do to prevent a injury, besides from stretching and being in the best possible shape?
That’s exactly what Kirk Hinrich is asking as irony fills the room to the ceiling. One season ago, Hinrich was missing 31 games due to a torn ligament in his right thumb, this year it’s the left thumb, but the good news tells us a big negative in regards to structural damage.
However, the development in this story tells us he’ll be out of the line-up for 1-2 weeks with a sprained thumb.
I guess it could be worse.
Hey, injuries are a part of the game right? Sure, but it’s going to blow(excuse my french) when our best perimeter defender isn’t on the floor tonight. This means lots of Derrick Rose on Brandon Jennings, and I really don’t like that idea. Of course, I do understand we don’t have any better options. Hopefully Jannero Pargo can go off on the Bucks like he did in the last contest, as he’ll be getting more minutes with the absence of Hinrich.
The Bulls are going to have to deal with the back court of Jennings/Ridnour. It’s a speed line-up, and for two teams that need to play up tempo to be successful, it will be curious as to see what gives.
The Bucks are banged up just as we are. Redd returned for a couple games, only to throw the offense out of wack and strain his patella tendon in the process. Luc Mbah Moute, a force on the glass, is out with a strain in his left foot. And most importantly, Jennings’ partner in crime, Andrew Bogut, is out with a strain in his lower left leg.
The Bucks after starting 7-3, dropped to 1-4 with Redd in the line up, and will be looking to get back on track without him.
With the Bucks looking depleted, it should be a team effort to contain Jennings and keep him out of the paint. Though he’s been shooting the ball well, his quickness allows for others to get involved. The Bulls must make everybody other than Jennings beat them, with the exception of the 6′10 Ersan Ilyasova, who’s shown he’s more than capable of hitting treys.
Hopefully we get a win and push closer to the .500 mark. A win on the road in Milwaukee could do wonders for a team struggling with confidence right now.
