Rumors:Bulls Sign Chris Richard, Big Z, Bulls chatter

February 5th, 2010 | by samia |

With a little less than two weeks remaining til the NBA trade deadline, the mind naturally wanders to a place where you think of decent players in new uniforms. Cleveland’s Danny Ferry in all indications is sweating to please his Superstar into staying around Cleveland. Gar Foreman is all but standing alongside the road with Tyrus Thomas and John Salmons, using Kirk Hinrich as bait. This should be a interesting thirteen days..

Bulls Sign Chris Richard

-Our bigs are in shambles right now with all the health concerns. Joakim will officially be out until the all-star break. Welcome Chris Richard on a 10 day contract to give us a live body.

Cavs scrambling to keep LBJ

-Word out of Cleveland suggests Big Z will be gone by the all-star break. If I was a fan in Cleveland, I would be a little bit concerned about making the deal for this reason:Mo Williams, Delonte West and Leon Powe are all scheduled to return after the all-star break. Trading Z and bringing in another new face could could throw a wrench into the team’s chemistry. Regardless, if I was a betting man, my money would be on Antawn Jamison from the Wizards coming over in a deal.

If Cleveland were to get creative…

-The Cavs have had brief discussions with the Pacers about Troy Murphy. But if Danny Ferry would be willing to part with a player like J.J. Hickson and a filler, they may be able to get a package with Dhantay Jones included. Jones would be a bigger, better, and non-insane version of Delonte West who would then become expendable.

Boston was thought to be a fit with health concerns to Paul Pierce and the rumblings of trading Ray Allen, but this seems very unlikely. As the days go on it seems the Bulls would have to depart with Tyrus Thomas if they were to get rid of Salmons. At the same time, they want to get more back in a deal for a former lottery pick. Only problem is Tyrus has been more of a bust than anything. Kirk Hinrich is drawing lots of interest regardless of his bulky contract, but the Bulls are reluctant to let him go anywhere.
